- Has your definition of art clanged since from the beginning of this class? Yes because at the start of this class I thought there was only one main type of art. I then learned that with each new medium there is a new type of art. Now since i know that i know that i can do other arts if I have another medium.
- Regardless of whether a project was successful or not, describe the one where you learned, grew, or developed the most from? Please explain. The main project i fell i learned the most from would have to be the charcoal piece I did. I grew from this piece because it was a whole new medium I hadn't used before so I had no experience. This taught me that with charcoal you really had to shade and push/pull the color to make there be a variation in shades.
- Choose a place or artwork where the subject matter reflects you as an artist. One that you have a personal connection to. Please explain. Mine would probably be near the end of the year when we did the final project and one of the choices was a create your own. I say this because when you do a create your own you have no guide lines to follow which to me is easier. Since it is easier for you to think without the normal guide lines holding you back you can do a better job when it comes to the final piece.
- What did you find most difficult about this class? This could be anything from gathering materials, to generating projects ideas, to applying a particular technique. What could be done to resolve this issue in the future? In my opinion the hardest part about this class was the learning of new techniques that you had to use i your art work. This was hard for me because I learn thing slower than some people so it takes me longer to get adjusted to the new techniques. I think the best way to solve this issue would probably be spending more time on the new techniques we learned in class.
- What is a technique you used in your artwork that worked well? Explain what technique it was and why it was successful. A technique that I used in just about all my art was just the normal sketching with a pencil. This technique worked very well for me because it is in my comfort zone and I have so much experience using it in my art work. The reason it is so easy for me is because ever since I started drawing, using pencil is what I have done so it is pretty much second nature to me now.
